Devotion 4/11,  The Love of God, so Rich and Pure

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  1 John 4:10
This will always amaze me, that God looked down on this mess that we humans are, and chose to love us to the point of sending His one and only Son to die for our sins so that we could be in heaven with Him for all eternity. He could have just left us in our lost state, bound to satan by our sin, and destined for an eternity in hell.
So you see, this truly is love, not that we loved Him, but that He loved us. Can we ever praise Him enough for this love that he has shown us? No! How do we even begin to thank someone for this kind of love? God is so very deserving of our worship, honor, and praise. He is deserving of our lives being dedicated to living for and following Him in all we say and do (Romans 12:1). He is deserving of our lives lived in servant-hood to Him.
When Jesus hung there at Calvary, His atoning blood flowed down that cross for our sin. It was His love for us that put Him on the cross to hang in anguish and suffering for you and I.
Thank You Jesus for loving me and dying for my sin. Help me to obey Your Word and live my life in a pleasing way before You. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
