Devotion 4/15, No longer a slave, but a Child of God

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.   Galatians 4:6-7
What a wonderful God we have that He cared enough about us as a human race to send His precious Son, Jesus Christ, to come to this world and die for our sins. And that through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior we not only will spend eternity in heaven, but are now sons and daughters of God! No longer are we slaves to sin, but heirs with Christ of the God of the universe (Romans 8:17)!
God could have chosen any relationship to have with us, but He chose the closest one, that of Parent/child. We love our children unconditionally, don’t we? Even when they mess up our love for them is secure because they are ours! Well that is a human example of the divine love that God has for those who have placed their faith in Christ and by doing so, become His children.
God has placed His Holy Spirit in us and that Spirit calls out “Abba Father”.
Thank You Father God for loving me and for sending Jesus to pay my sin debt in full! I purpose to live my life for Your glory each day that You grant me on this earth. I give You all praise and honor this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
