Devotion 4/21, Have a heart purposed to live for Him

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
No matter our age we are to live our lives as representatives of Christ. Romans 12:2 tells us to not be conformed to the ways of this world. With that in mind: Our speech reveals what is truly in our heart most times. Our conduct (actions) are the outward manifestation of what is in our hearts. Our depth of love for others is a true sign of just how much we love Christ. Our depth of faith may be shown by how close we remain to God even when we are going through struggles in life. And our purity is not only our acts but our motives for our actions.
We are never going to be perfect this side of heaven, but this is no surprise to God, all He asks is that we have a heart that is purposed to living for Him (Romans 12:1), and that when we sin we come to Him in confession so that our fellowship with Him is restored (1 John 1:9).
Father God, I humbly come before You this morning and ask that You help me to be a worthy example of You to all those in my world today. Help me to love as You love so that Your name will be glorified through my life. I give You all praise this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
