Devotion 4/22, Through Christ

I can do everything through him [Christ] who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:13
Paul is letting the church at Philippi know that even though he has been through many struggles for standing for Christ, he can do these things because it is Christ who strengthens him.
The very same holds true for every child of God today. When we are living our lives in accordance with His will for us there is nothing that He will call us to do that He will not give us the strength and ability to carry out. It is our part to trust God and step out in faith to do those things that He desires for us to accomplish.
This is yet another reason why it is crucial to be in communication with God on a daily basis so that He can speak to us through His Word and through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
When we read and study God’s Word each day, we are taking in nourishment for our spirit.
O God, my strength would fade without you, and my confidence would fail. Thankfully, I will never have to worry about this because of your grace, your Spirit, and your Son. These strengthen me and help me weather any storm. I believe you will never abandon me. Thank you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
