Devotion 4/24, One Body, One Lord of All

From [Christ] the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.  Ephesians 4:16
When we belong to Jesus we are to be constantly growing in our spiritual being. The more time we spend with Christ in prayer and in His Word, the more we will become spiritually mature, reflecting and behaving like Him in our thoughts and actions. We are to be unified with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, showing the unsaved around us a worthy representation of our wonderful Lord and Savior.
This whole chapter in Ephesians is about unity and maturity in the body of believers, with Christ being the head and His followers being the body that obediently carries out His will on earth. As we grow in the Lord individually, we assist in the effectiveness of the body of believers. When each one listens to the Holy Spirit within and does their part in the body with love, there is a unity that is precious to God and beneficial to us. There is also an effectiveness from each body of believers in this world that is mightily used by God as a witness for Him to the unsaved.
Father, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for his example, service, obedience, love, and sacrifice. Thank you for his resurrection, exaltation, power, and presence today in your Church and in my life. Father, please use me and my brothers and sisters in Christ with me to do his work in our world and share your grace with all who are lost. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
