Devotion 4/25, Majesty, Kingdom Authority

Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.  James 4:17
James has just given an entire chapter on how a child of God is suppose to conduct themselves in life. He wraps up this chapter with a stern warning, to know what is right to do and then choose to ignore God instead of submitting to Him is sin.
I struggle with this on a daily basis. What Godly opportunities did I miss today…and why?
When we accepted Christ as Savior the Holy Spirit of God came to dwell inside of us. This Holy Spirit that is a part of the God-Head, will reveal God’s will to us through God’s Word, through prayer, and through our conscience. No longer can we justify our behavior that is contrary to God’s Word. If the Bible says that it is a sin, then that is the end of it, it is sin in God’s eyes.
While our world culture may accept things that are against God’s Word (too many to mention), that does not give we who know Christ as Lord license to accept these acts or thoughts as ok. Our final Authority is God!  The media, special interest groups and political agendas are not the authority, only God, His Word and the Holy Spirit.
Dear Father, please use me today to bless someone in need so they can know your grace and glorify Jesus for his goodness. In the Savior’s sweet and precious name, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
