Devotion 5/20, I Cast All My Cares Upon You, Lord

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7

He cares for you.”
I heard a preacher describe worry like this;
“Worry is sin because it denies the wisdom of God; it says that He doesn’t know what He is doing. It denies the love of God for it says that He does not care. And it denies the power of God; it says that He is not able to deliver me from whatever is causing me to worry.”
We tend to not think of worry as sin, but it is!
When I stop reacting to bad circumstances and truly stop and think about it, I know that God loves me and if He allows the worst to happen, He will be there to comfort me and give me peace through the process! He will never leave me or forsake me (Hebrews 13:5), and He will work everything out for my good (Romans 8:28).
Loving Father and Almighty God, I consciously place all my anxieties, worries, cares, and frustrations into your hands. I will need the Holy Spirit’s help as I do my best not to dwell on them and seek to trust that you will do what is best for me and for those I love. In Jesus’ name, I thank you for this promise and ask for your help in receiving this grace. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
