Devotion 5/23, The Lord is our Only Salvation

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
God did not send Jesus into this world to condemn us, He certainly could have sent Him here for that purpose, as we totally deserved His condemnation, but He decided to extend mercy and grace to mankind! All that is required of us is to accept the free gift that He offers of salvation through His precious blood for the forgiveness of our sins (Romans 3:25).
Jesus came to this earth to suffer, bleed, and die a cruel death so that anyone who will confess and place their faith in Him can have eternal life in heaven. Christ’s death is sufficient to cover the sins of anyone ever born in the past, present, and future.
God absolutely does NOT desire for ANYONE to go to hell.
2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
But, He has and will put people there if they reject Jesus and His finished atoning work on the cross to save them. John 14:6 clearly states that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life….no one comes to the Father except through Him. There are NOT many ways to God, there is ONE way to God and to an eternity spent in heaven, (John 3:16) that way is through faith in Jesus Christ!
I pray that those that are lost accept Jesus and His free gift of salvation.
Loving Father, thank you for my confidence in Jesus! I know that whether I live till Jesus comes or if I were to die this very day, I can have confidence that my future is with you because it is tied to Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and hell. Thank you for giving me a home with you as my ultimate future. Thank you for your mercies, grace and continued blessings. In Jesus’ name, I give thanks and praise you. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
