Devotion 6/18, Saved by His Amazing Grace

But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
Romans 6:17
Paul certainly knew about being a slave to sin, and he fully understood the freedom that comes from trusting Christ as Lord and Savior! He is very pleased with the church in Rome for they are obeying God by living in obedience to the teaching that Paul and the disciples have entrusted to these early Christians. They are living in the freedom that only Christ can bring to the human heart and life.
Now instead of being enslaved to a sinful lifestyle, they, and we, are enslaved to righteousness! When we accepted Christ a change came about in us;
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Father, my head understands that obeying your will is a blessing, not a restriction. I know you have given me your truth to protect and save me. You demonstrated this truth in sending Jesus, so I want to wholeheartedly obey your will. Please forgive me for sometimes doubting and looking elsewhere for the joy and delight only you provide. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
