Devotion 6/29, Just love them like Jesus

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Galatians 6:10
We are to be good to all people, just as Christ was when He walked this earth. He did those things that pleased the Father, He always served others needs, and He had a servant attitude. Of all people that ever walked this earth, Christ should have been served by mankind (His creation), but He lowered Himself for our good, even to the point of death on the cross to redeem us to God.
So, when Paul instructs us in Galatians to do good to all people as we have opportunity, he is simply asking us to act as Christ would (Ephesians 5:1) for He is the Master of our hearts!
Next the apostle addressed the issue of those who belong to the family of believers, those who have placed their faith in Christ. As children of God we are to be especially good to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to behave as a family.
Father, thank You for sending Jesus to pay my sin debt to You and for loving me so much more than I deserve. I pray that You help me to recognize the needs in those around me and give me the ability to help them as You would see fit for me to do. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
