Devotion 7/12, As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

“…..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”    Joshua 24:15
Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve others! When we are living lives in service to Him we are showing that our hearts are centered on Him. And when our hearts are centered on Him we are truly happy, content, and fully satisfied! God created us to serve Him, so we simply will not be happy until we understand this truth and start living lives that glorify Him by serving those He places in our path with the resources He has given us.
So, where is your treasure? Is it in all the trappings of this world, chasing the Almighty dollar, or is it based in God and obeying His Word, to further His kingdom on earth?
Your honest answer to this question, will determine your joy and satisfaction in this life (Proverbs 16:16). Because wherever your “treasure” is, that is where your heart resides!
Father, I know the only trustworthy security I can ever have is in you. Please give me wisdom as I seek to use my time, talents, and treasure to honor you, to serve others, and bring others to you, and invest my treasures with you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
