Devotion 7/26, Our Refuge and Strength

O Lord my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me…
Psalm 7:1
Our hope is in Christ! When I am wronged I don’t need to let it ruin my day, I know where my hope is placed and that gives me peace and comfort no matter how someone acts towards me. Romans 12:21 tells us to overcome evil with good. We will have to deal with evil as long as we live in this world, the important issue is how we deal with it! The Holy Spirit of God dwells on the inside of us and He enables us to forgive and turn the other cheek when we let Him work in our hearts and lives. However, if we become bitter and grudgeful satan has won the victory. My goal in life is to give Christ the victory each day for His glory, because every time we do it is a slam and defeat of satan!
Psalm 62:5 (NLT)
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.
Father God, you are my refuge and source of strength. This is especially true when my courage is gone, and my soul is weary. Please, dear Father, destroy all the forces and powers and enemies that pursue me and seek to take me captive and draw me away from you. In Jesus’ name, I confidently pray that you are my refuge. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
