Devotion 9/7, Treasures in Heaven

For this world in its present form is passing away.
1 Corinthians 7:31
I find it interesting that our society is so consumed with preserving this earth. The amount of time and money spent on doing everything in an “eco friendly” manner is staggering. Yet they have thrown God’s Word out of schools, court houses, and too many public buildings to mention. As usual, mankind has it backwards. Their time and money would be better spent on spreading God’s Word to all who will listen. I am not endorsing pollution or littering of this earth, but some perspective needs to be administered to it. Our culture’s focus is on the temporal instead of the eternal!
James 4:14
What is your life? You are like a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Only what is done for Christ, in this very short life that we are given, is of any lasting value. Lord help us to live lives that are centered on doing His will each and every day.
God’s Words will never pass away!
Lord God Almighty, we thank you for being what everything else in the world cannot be. Please awaken our hearts to things of eternal significance and open our eyes to see through the things that are so often alluring to us away from you. In Jesus’ name, we pray and ask for your help. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
