Devotion 9/11, Christ Be All Around Me

When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.   Luke 2:45
I suspect Mary and Joseph had a sense of panic when they couldn’t find Jesus, just like any parent that can’t find their child. Jesus was already 12 years old then, but he wasn’t answering them. When they found him in the temple, his answer was a question: Didn’t they know that he needed to be there, about his Father’s business?
On days when Jesus may feel distant, we can be assured that he is still doing the will of his Father. Look for him, and you will find him—and he might have a question for you.
Dear God, when we are distracted and missing you, help us to refocus and realize that you are where you need to be. Keep us in tune with you, with a hunger in our hearts for Your wisdom and understanding. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
