Devotion 10/2, In His Time, He Will Do what He Has Written

Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has fortified many towns. But I will send fire upon their cities that will consume their fortresses.    Hosea 8:14
At this point in time Israel placed their trust in false god’s and idols. Judah placed trust in mighty fortified cities (their own strength) and it would bring destruction from God down upon them. They had forgotten their Maker and their hearts had turned cold against Him. In short, they were trusting in their own strength and power and pushed aside the Source of that power!
This brings to mind a verse in Ephesians:
Ephesians 2:10, For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The result of salvation through faith in Christ is that we are His workmanship, not our own, but HIS. A born again believer is a brand new masterpiece of God.
God lovingly designed us and gives each of us our own talents and abilities to live a life that is pleasing to Him. But we must keep in mind that all our strength and power come from God alone!
When I think of the despicable nature that God has to deal with in humans, His achievement with us is all the more remarkable!
God prepared in advance (before our salvation) the blueprint for our lives. He has mapped out what will bring Him glory and our good during our time on this earth. Our responsibility is to find His perfect will for us and then obey Him by following that will.
Thank You Jesus for making me a new creation through Your precious blood shed for the forgiveness of my sins. I pray that You help me to live for You each day and to be an accurate example of Your love to all I meet. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this day! Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
