Devotion 10/23, We Are Called to Truth

Speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.   Ephesians 4:25
We are all members of one body. Each body part affects the whole body. So if believers in Christ spread misinformation, we reduce the truthfulness of the church. Then christians are seen as untrustworthy, and this dishonors Christ and ultimately harms our ability to be taken seriously when we share the good news of Jesus.
Christians are called to live by the truth. It means you must follow Jesus, who says, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6).
Words have meaning. How we say what we say is a reflection of of our heart. We should always seek to “speak Jesus”.
Holy Spirit, let us be people marked by the truth. May the truth reach many people with the gospel.  I pray as part of Your body, we refrain from rumors and misinformation and focus on building the body of Christ. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
