Devotion 11/3, Bread and Wine, Body and Blood

Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 10:16
When we press that cup, which represents His blood, to our lips we are reminded of what our sin cost Him and what His death saved us from. When we put the bread in our mouths we are reminded of how broken and mangled His precious, holy body was, for our sins. We are sad that our sin caused Him to suffer, but at the same time filled with joy that He loved us so much that He died for us!
We know our own sinful hearts, but He looked at us and desired to pay our sin debt to God with His own precious blood to bring us into a relationship with Him. Now when God looks at us, He sees us through the blood of Christ and we are clean and sinless positionally before God (Ephesians 2:13)! How awesome is that!?
Lord, thank You for shedding Your blood for my sins. You did not have to do it, but I am eternally grateful that You did! I desire to live my life solely for You my Savior for as many days as You grant me on this earth. I give You all praise, honor and glory, my Savior and Redeemer, this and every day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
