Devotion 11/8, Trust Him for Wisdom and Guidance

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6
I asked God to take away my habit. God said, no. It is not for me to take away but for you to give it up.
I asked God to heal my handicapped son. God said no. His spirit is whole his body is only temporary.
I asked God to give me patience but God said no. Patience is a by-product of tribulations. It isn’t granted it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness but God said no. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain but God said no. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow but God said no. You must grow on your own but I will prune you and make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life but God said no. I will give you life so you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me love others as He has loved me. God said ah, now you have the idea.
The day is yours don’t throw it away.

Dear God, I look to no one else for wisdom. I humbly ask for Your help in making important decisions in my life because I don’t know how to make them without You. Please, give me direction and wisdom so I can make the right decisions and bring glory to Your name. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
