Devotion 12/16, One Body

Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.   1 Corinthians 12:14
There are so many parts to the human body that have to function properly for good health. The older I get, the more obvious this has become! If one of the members of my body is not functioning well, it affects my entire body and life.
It is precisely the same with the body of believers in the church. We all have different talents and functions as laid out in Scripture (1 Peter 4:10-11, Romans 12:6). When all do their part well, God is greatly glorified and great things are accomplished for the Kingdom of God here on earth. We are all to be working in obedience to God, our head, and in cooperation with the other members.
Our takeaway here is to be in obedience to God and His Word by doing our part in the body of believers so as to keep the body healthy and functioning for Christ!
Father, thank You for the abilities that You have given me. Help me to use them for You and to be sensitive to Your leading each day! I give You all glory, honor, and praise this day and I give thanks for your mercies, grace, blessings and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
