Devotion 1/2, We’re So Blessed!

When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall.
Nehemiah 12:30
We are to “purify” ourselves from the contaminates of this world. What does this mean? It means to follow the guiding of the Holy Spirit within us and do not take part in the ungodliness that goes on in this world. Instead, we need to cling to Christ and by doing so we behave in a godly manner by keeping our focus fixed on Him, spending time in His Word and with His people, our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
This does NOT mean that we will ever achieve a totally sin-free life this side of heaven. We know from reading other Scriptures that we will continue to sin until we are with the Lord face to face. We are even told what to do when we are made aware of any sin in our lives, 1 John 1:9 says to confess it to God.
John 5:24 (Jesus says)
“I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” WHAT A BLESSING!
Thank You Jesus for shedding Your blood for my sins and for the eternal life that you give to ALL who place their faith in that precious blood. I give You thanks, glory, praise and honor this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
