Devotion 1/3, I Am A New Creation

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires…
Ephesians 4:22
When one is born again through faith in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins, we go from being outside of Christ, to being IN Christ. When God looks at us He sees us through the veil of His Son’s blood and we are clean before Him (Hebrews 9:11-28, Romans 5:8-11).
Our verse today is not suggesting that after our conversion we no longer sin. In 1 John 1:8-10 God’s Word clearly states that if we say we do not sin we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
However, after salvation has occurred, we are new creatures. Now when we sin the convicting power of the indwelling Holy Spirit is there prompting us to confess our sin to God and purpose in our hearts to live lives that are in obedience to Him.
Thank You Jesus for coming to this earth and paying my sin debt to God with the only payment that He will accept, Your own precious blood. I thank You for making me a new creation and for Your redemptive work on the cross at Calvary. I purpose in my heart to live each day as the new creation that I am through You, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
