Devotion 1/7, Make me a Servant

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called. . …….    Ephesians 4:4
The only man who lived to serve was Jesus Christ. Matthew 20:28, which reads in part, “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”. Our Lord prayed that his church would be united, that all who believe in him would be one. In that way the church can be a unified body. Even though it has many members, it is one because all have the same Spirit and the same hope.
The unity of the church is the foundation for serving one another. Just as all the parts of a physical body work together for the good of the whole body, so the members of the church serve each other. We don’t reject or compete with each other; we complement one another.
How we treat people is who we are! How can you and your family promote the unity of the body of Christ?
Jesus, Lord of Your church, we thank you for giving your life so that we can have life. Help us to promote unity in the church today, serving you and one another always. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
