Devotion 1/21, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us!

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Remember when Saul of Tarsus was going to Damascus to persecute the Christians there (Acts 9:1-19), but ended up becoming one of them! Jesus saved him on the way and changed his name (Paul), life, and mission from that point forward! I sure like that change of plans!
Remember that only one commitment is essential for this year: Asking the Lord where he wants us to go and what he wants us to do, then we go there and do it. Let’s ask the Lord to lead us by his Holy Spirit and establish our steps!
So, go ahead and make your plans, but remember to be sensitive to God possibly changing them and be prepared for His plans to be much better than what you initially thought!
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Lord and Father, thank you for being wondrous, holy, and mighty. Thank you for tenderly caring about me, my life, my decisions, and my struggles. Please guide me by your Holy Spirit as I seek to understand your Scriptures and discern your will for my life. I want to have you fully establish my steps. In Jesus’ name, I ask for this guidance. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
