Devotion 1/23, Shout to the Lord!

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Psalm 100:1
The 100th Psalm is a call to all the earth to worship Jehovah. It calls beyond the nation of Israel, and welcomes all the Gentile lands as well.
When we truly understand who God is and what He has saved us from, we cannot help but shout for joy to Him who loves us so much! No matter the circumstances that surround us each day, when we know Christ as Lord and Savior, deep in our hearts we will still have the joy of the Lord. Having the joy of the Lord is our strength against the enemy (Nehemiah 8:10). The devil is constantly trying to steal our joy, but he cannot do so if we are properly rooted and grounded in the fact that he has no power over us (James 4:7), only God has power over His blood bought children. Jesus defeated satan at the cross (Revelation 12:11) and the devil has no power against Him!
So, go ahead and shout for joy to the LORD of heaven and earth! He deserves our praises, He deserves our honor, and He deserves our lives dedicated to Him and His glory!
Father God, I praise You this day with a joyful heart, and with a thankful spirit! There are no other Gods but You Jehovah/Yahweh, the Maker of heaven and earth. You alone made all that exists, and You alone are my Salvation, my Rock, and my Fortress! I give You all glory and honor, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
