Devotion 1/31, Thank You for Today, Lord

When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  Psalm 61:2
When you become a Christian, it doesn’t mean that you will live on a perpetual “high.” The Psalmist David went down to the very depths, and so did the Apostle Paul. But in the midst of all circumstances God’s grace, peace, and joy are there. The tears will still come, the pressures will be felt, and so will the temptations. But there is a new dimension, a new direction, and a new power in life to face the circumstances in which you live, Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life.
David and Paul have given us the example of trusting You, Lord, even in the excruciating valleys of life. Like them, we praise You. We give thanks for today and trust in your faithfulness Lord. We pray Your light shines through us for others as we focus on You and Your kingdom.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
