Devotion 3/1, Greater is He Who Lives Inside of Me!

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4
John is letting these early Christians know that the false teachers that had been inundating the church, had no power over them. As believers in Christ, they had the Holy Spirit of God in them that would reveal the falseness of these “spirits” that were not from God. They were capable of detecting the error of their teachings as not being from God, and therefore reject their message.
The same is true of us as believers in Christ today! There are numerous false teachers in our world. But we still have the Holy Spirit of God in us that we received upon salvation. When we hear a teacher teach something that is against God’s Word the Bible, we are to reject that teaching immediately! God would never speak through anyone a message that is in direct opposition to His Word. But Satan would!

Father God, words cannot convey the thankfulness we feel in our hearts for Your love for us! Thank You for imparting Your Holy Spirit to us so many years ago. We so regret the times we have not listened to You, and am ever thankful for the many times You have led us down the right path in life. You always have our best interests at heart because of Your great love for us. Help us to always listen to Your Spirit so that You can receive all the glory that You so richly deserve. We love You and give You all praise this day Abba, Amen!
I love the lyrics to this song!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
