Devotion 4/3, The Image of God in All of Us

The commandments . . . are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Romans 13:9
God has made each of us like himself in some special ways. We are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). So, in spite of sin’s damage, we can still detect in good ways the image of God in every person. A bottom line in interpersonal relationships is to respect each person as an imagebearer of God.
This can then lead us to love everyone as ourselves. These basic principles give us a foundation for bridge building that overcomes barriers.
Lord, you have made us all in your image. Help us to see God’s likeness in every person we meet. Help us to love everyone. I pray we share Your goodness that you have each one of us with. May we plant the good seed to change lives and build Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
