Devotion 5/12, Our “Red-letter Blueprint“!

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.
Proverbs 29:25
Philip Ware: “Jesus told us not to fear our human adversaries (Luke 12:4-5). When we try to please others and fear what others may say or do to us, we place ourselves in a position of unnecessary vulnerability. Our lives no longer remain our own. We become captive to what others think, want, or threaten. We are only to trust the Lord and reverence him. Actively placing our faith in the Lord crowds fear out of our hearts with our Father’s perfect love (1 John 4:18). As we deliberately put our faith in the Lord, God becomes our security, now and forevermore.”
Our guidance should always come from His Word and trusting in His Word and the Holy Spirit.
Please keep us safe, O Lord, from those who oppose us and would do us harm. Give us the courage to live for Jesus and live a life of righteous character, gracious compassion, and faithful love regardless of what our adversaries say, think, criticize, or threaten. May our lives be a holy praise to you, inspired by Your Word and Jesus’ life as our example. In Jesus’ name, we offer ourselves, our praise, and this prayer. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
