Devotion 5/14, A Child of the King

those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  Romans 8:14
I have heard many well-meaning people say that all humans are children of God. This is actually a false statement. All humans are God’s creation, but only those who have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior are His children (John 1:12, Romans 9:8, Galatians 3:26).
When a person places their trust in Christ the Holy Spirit of God comes to dwell in them. There is no special thing that has to happen or time that has to go by before the Holy Spirit comes to live in them, it happens at their conversion.
When we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit by being obedient to God’s Word we are proving that we are truly His child and that our relationship is strong and in union with God.
As God’s children we have all of the privileges and responsibilities of being His child.
Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins on the cross at Calvary! Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to live in me. Thank You for the leading, guiding, and comfort that He gives me in this life. Help me to always be sensitive to His leading and call on my life and to be a good reflection of You to the unsaved around me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
