9/15, Christ in You!

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Colossians 3:16

This is the only occurrence of the phrase “the word of Christ” in the New Testament. The normal way the New Testament phrases the idea of the Bible is “the word of the Lord” or “the word of God.”

Note the word “let.” The word of Christ is ready and willing to dwell in us. The only issue that remains is our volition. The word will indwell us if we let it. God manufactures the word of Christ in our hearts.

The idea is to let the Word of God dwell inside and live at home in our lives. The Word of God needs to inhabit us. This is more than just reading the Bible. God wants us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts (v. 15), and the Word of Christ dwells in our hearts.

If we generate a serious attitude about letting the Word of God dwell in our lives, we will be richer, and our character will grow stronger. Our individual lives will change, and our homes will be better.

Who is the real victor in life? Is it not the one who dies with a thankful and hope-filled spirit? How do we die with gratitude? We live with it!

Live today and all your tomorrows with gratitude in worship, song and praise, God loves our gratitude. Live with gratitude for this life's journey. He is with you, always!

Call on Christ to dwell in our hearts, to dwell in each of us. He is our only salvation. Live our lives in gratitude for His place in our hearts.

Thank you Christ for making my life with you personal.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.

This is so true. I know it’s easier to live with gratitude when life is good but so often we forget to be grateful when things are bad in our lives. I’m so thankful our God is there through it all, carrying me when I fall. Thank you for this devotional today.
